How can we help?
Email support@kessik.com. Include your iPhone model, the iOS version and the exact message the app shows.
Connection checklist
- On the Mac, open System Settings, General, Sharing and turn on Remote Login.
- Install tmux with
brew install tmux. Kessik looks in/opt/homebrew/binand/usr/local/bin. - Install Claude Code and run
claudeonce in Terminal to sign in. - In Kessik, open Settings, Macs, Add Mac. Enter a name, the hostname, the port and the username of the Mac.
- Away from home, turn on Tailscale on both devices and use the Tailscale address.
Common problems
The host key changed
Kessik saves the first host key a Mac shows. If a later connection shows a different key, the app stops. This happens after a Mac is reset or replaced. It can also mean someone is intercepting the connection, so confirm the change before you trust it.
The Remote Control message shows in the terminal
Remote Control needs a claude.ai login on the Mac. If Claude Code uses an API key, it still starts, and it shows a Remote Control error.
The .local name does not work
A .local name works on the same Wi-Fi only. Use the Tailscale address on other networks.
Face ID asks before every login
That is the Require Face ID to log in setting. Turn it off in Settings if you do not want the check.
Kessik does not support Mosh. You can save several Macs. The Sessions tab uses the one that is checked in Settings.
